My compound is Carbamate Pesticides and this is the summary of the compound. It is in certain insecticides, nematocides and Carbamate herbicides, and used to keep our crops from being infested by plant eating bugs. We use it because they will evaporate or sublimate slowly at normal temperature, which may lead to volatilization of carbamates from water and soil causing faster decomposition.

Carbamate ester derivatives are crystalline solids of low vapor pressure with variable, but usually low, water solubility. They are moderately soluble in solvents such as benzene, toluene, xylene, chloroform, dichloromethane, and 1,2-dichloroethane. In
General, they are poorly soluble in nonpolar organic solvents such as petroleum hydrocarbons but highly soluble in polar organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol, acetone, dimethylformamide, etc. The product of this already product from carbamic acid is the pesticide that we mix with it to make Carbamate Pesticides.

Health and Environmental Impacts:
Most of Carbamates do not require metabolic activation because they are active inhibitors of AChE (Acetylcholinesterase). They travel through the soil and can get into the water under certain circumstances. The data on animal testing of this compound reveal that very little can get into you through your mouth or absorption through the skin.
Some of the Problems it could cause is:
• If exposed you could be poisoned and become ill
• They damage the nervous system and are carcinogenic
• It is strongly proven to make men infertile
• It causes damage to children in the womb
• Lung problems
• Also causes brain damage
Not only does it do damage to the body, but it could do damage to the environment in way such as:
• Most of it’s impact on the environment is through the water ways
• There is a little damage to the o-zone layer
• All so damages our food supply
• Witch in return causes health problems listed above
• Through the soil to our water and evaporated to the air is the cycle it travels
• It might be thought as helping us, but it does a lot more damage than helping
Economical and Political:
For the economic side of Carbamate Pesticides, I have to say we use pesticides a lot for our crops and other food and farm based work. They make tons of money by selling pesticides to agricultural work places. As for the political account of the pesticides, I really can’t see their being an effect on the politics, but It will have a great effect on our economy. Since it is so commonly sold it will be hard to make them change their minds on using this compound.
